MSMEDA has recently allocated 49% of all financing for medium, small, and micro projects to women, 49% to Upper Egypt, and 48% to individuals aged 40 and younger.
Basil Rahmy, the head of the Medium, Small, and Micro-Sized Enterprise Social Fund for Development, met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Sunday. Rahmy provided an overview of the agency’s activities from January 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024, according to Egypt Today.
He further reported that 70% of financing for medium projects is directed toward the industrial and agricultural sectors. The agency operates through 31 regional offices across the country.
Roughly 2.8 billion EGP was allocated to finance around 920 small projects, creating over 9,250 job opportunities. Additionally, financing was provided for ten medium projects, leading to over 1,270 job opportunities.
In addition to financing infrastructure, community development, and training projects, around 41,500 micro projects were financed, creating approximately 115,000 job opportunities.
