On Sunday, Egypt’s environment minister Yasmine Fouad spoke with Kafr El Sheikh governorate MP Mohamed El Sammoudi about how to develop Lake Borolos while safeguarding it as a significant natural reserve from the adverse effects of climate change.
The minister emphasized her ministry’s position on the lake’s development and the assignment to a global company to conduct an integrated water quality analysis.
The meeting further covered issues concerning the lake, such as pollutants from nearby medical waste burning.
Being one of Egypt’s unique natural protectorates makes Lake Borolos one of the country’s most beautiful tourist attractions.
It consists of 28 islands widely spaced apart and home to several families and fishermen.
