JumiaPay Announces New Strategic Partnership with ZoomCar

In line with the Egyptian government’s directives to transform into a cashless society and enhance financial inclusion, Jumia, the leading e-commerce platform in Egypt, has partnered with ZoomCar, the largest car-sharing service platform in developing markets and the largest self-driving car company in the Indian market, have announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between both parties.

ZoomCar Egypt provides its services through the company’s easy-to-use platform, which allows citizens to easily access safe personal means of transportation, as users can book cars through the application at affordable prices, and car owners will be able to register their cars for rent and even obtaining a free car inspection at the start of the trip, so that the owner can obtain a satisfactory financial return with maximum flexibility and insurance that covers up to 100% in the event of damage, with the application of the terms and conditions regulating that.

Through this strategic partnership, JumiaPay will be accepting online payments for ZoomCar’s app and website, while ZoomCar allows users to rent cars on an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Commenting on this cooperation, Sarah Hassan, Head of Consumer Services at JumiaPay, expressed her satisfaction with Jumia’s leadership in the field of electronic payment and collection through the JumiaPay platform.

She noted that through the new partnership with ZoomCar, the online payment and collection operations for ZoomCar customers will be managed by Jumia, as the company seeks to conclude partnerships and agreements with many companies and institutions that aim to improve the customer experience through online payments.

Hassan concluded that this is clearly aligned with Egypt’s vision to achieve financial inclusion and digital transformation by 2030.

She also added that customers can easily and safely use the JumiaPay application to pay online through a bundle of services, whether mobile top-ups, paying mobile bills, electricity, gas, water, landlines, and Internet, as well as paying donations, as this service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For his part, Hany Olama, Vice President and Country Manager of ZoomCar in Egypt, confirmed that the company achieved outstanding success since it started its operations in Egypt.

He shared that today these achievements are crowned by its strategic partnership with the digital payment platform JumiaPay, which has gained the trust of its clients, and that ZoomCar, in cooperation with the Jumia platform, will be working to provide new electronic solutions to their clients to facilitate the payment and collection process.
