Int’l Cooperation Attends World Economic Forum in Riyadh

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, the Minister of International Cooperation, was an active participant in numerous events and discussions during the special meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The meeting was held under the theme “Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development.”

The Minister of International Cooperation, as a board member of the World Economic Forum’s Center for New Economy and Society, participated in the “Meeting of Human Capital Initiatives: Reskilling Revolution and Jobs Initiative” session.

Al-Mashat emphasized the significance of investing in human capital to promote comprehensive growth and sustainable development. She pointed out that the rapid global advancements and changes in the labor market necessitate a workforce with different skills and requirements that can keep up with modern technologies and artificial intelligence.

During the session, the World Economic Forum initiative was discussed. The program aims to reshape the unique skills of the global workforce and prepare one billion people for the economy of tomorrow. This ambitious program provides training in the skills necessary for future careers, including artificial intelligence techniques.

The minister took part in a discussion about promoting equal opportunities for both men and women. During the session, she emphasized the importance of women’s participation in the world’s economic challenges, especially in the context of economic recovery. She stressed that women’s involvement is crucial to enhancing international development efforts and reducing inequalities.

The Minister of International Cooperation has elaborated on the significant advancements made towards women’s empowerment worldwide, yet highlighting the persisting challenges that continue to impede their equal participation in the workforce, impediments in capacity building, and limited access to necessary skillsets.
