The Insurance Federation of Egypt has launched a new initiative titled “Her Power” aimed at supporting and empowering women working in the insurance sector through a series of specialized activities and workshops that combine professional development and personal empowerment. The initiative seeks to strengthen women’s participation in shaping the future of the sector while keeping pace with digital and technological developments. In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the federation said the initiative comes within a broader vision focused on investing in female professionals as one of the main pillars of institutional development within the insurance market. It added that the federation’s board welcomed the initiative and described it as an important step toward building a more inclusive and innovative work environment.

The federation explained that the initiative is not limited to developing technical and professional skills, but also aims to create a supportive space that promotes confidence, inspiration, and stronger female participation across different areas of work, particularly in fields related to digital transformation, innovation, and modern technology. The federation launched the first activity under the initiative through a workshop titled “Cybersecurity Awareness and the Role of Women in Building a Secure Digital Future,” attended by women working in the Egyptian insurance sector. The workshop aimed to raise digital awareness and strengthen women’s role in supporting secure digital work environments within institutions. The session was presented by Mai Mamdouh Mahmoud, Cyber Programs and Initiatives Management Trainer at the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA). She reviewed key cybersecurity challenges and best practices related to data protection and strengthening digital awareness within work environments.

The federation stated that “Her Power” represents the beginning of a broader program that will include additional specialized activities and events during the coming period, with the aim of developing participants’ leadership, creative, and technical skills to help prepare female professionals capable of keeping pace with rapid changes in the sector.
It also announced plans to honor the companies that show the highest level of support and engagement with the initiative during a major celebration to be held alongside International Women’s Day next March, in recognition of institutions supporting women’s empowerment within the insurance market.

Alaa El Zoheiry stated that supporting working women within the insurance sector is one of the federation’s key priorities during the current phase, especially given the importance of diversity within institutions in strengthening their ability to develop and address future challenges. He added that women have demonstrated a strong presence over recent years across technical, administrative, and leadership positions within the Egyptian insurance market, and have become capable of making a real impact on development paths and decision-making processes. This, he noted, requires additional initiatives that provide wider opportunities for growth, professional experience, and building effective professional networks.

He also explained that the federation aims through such initiatives to strengthen an institutional culture based on appreciation and motivation, while creating greater opportunities for qualified women to participate in modern and specialized fields, especially amid rapid developments in technology, innovation, and digital transformation. For her part, Hadeel Abdel Kader stated that the “Her Power” initiative was designed to serve as a supportive and inspiring platform for women working in the sector, adding that it aims to build a more connected and collaborative professional community among employees across insurance companies.

She added that the initiative is being implemented by a group of young female professionals working within the federation’s team, reflecting the federation’s commitment to giving young talent real opportunities for creativity and participation in presenting ideas and initiatives capable of creating positive impact within the sector.

She confirmed that the initiative will include additional activities and events to be announced gradually during the coming period, ensuring a comprehensive development experience that addresses both the professional and personal aspects of participants’ growth. She added that selecting cybersecurity as the initiative’s first topic reflects the federation’s commitment to keeping pace with rapid changes in the digital work environment and enhancing women’s readiness to participate in building a secure and sustainable digital future.
