America’s most famed boy band from the 90s, Backstreet Boys, recently announced that they are set to perform in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE next May as part of their “DNA World Tour”. The band will perform in Egypt on May 1st at Zed East in New Cairo.
Live Nation, organizers of the concert, shared their excitement on their official Instagram page, stating: We are so excited to announce the Middle Eastern, African, and Indian leg of the Backstreet Boys’ DNA World Tour! Between the first and the 19th of May, Backstreet Boys will be performing in seven countries, including Egypt, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Live Nations mentioned that Backstreet Boys were considered the best-selling boy band in history; they have broken many records and received countless awards, not to mention repeatedly topping the charts with their most recognizable pop hits and selling over 65 million albums worldwide.
Back in 2006, after Kevin left the band for personal reasons, rumors sparkled of the band breaking up, but the band seemingly dismissed the rumors. However, they laid low and semi-vanished from the pop scene for nearly 13 years, only to reunite and reclaim their previous status in 2019 by releasing their Grammy-nominated 10th studio album “DNA” with RCA Records.
The band’s first hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in a decade, charting in over 22 countries worldwide was “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”, and it was a fan favorite during their concerts, along with oldies, like “I Want It That Way” and of course “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely”.
Prebooking for the long-awaited concert is open, but ticket prices have yet to be announced. Early bird users can pre-book on the Live Nation website or Tickets Marche’s website for discounted tickets.
