The cabinet’s media center said Egypt is a pivotal country in the data transfer and 90% of data movement is passing through the Egyptian soil and waters, according to the new version of the “Policies Compass” magazine.
The magazine, issued by the center, is a non-periodical publication. It aims to keep up with the latest developments of different public policies worldwide.
The cabinet further indicated that Egypt is the second largest country in the world, where maritime internet cables go through its coasts, following the US with 17% of internet cables worldwide.
Revenues from crossing the internet cables via the Egyptian territorial waters reached nearly $185 M in 2019, it added.
