The General Authority for Culture Palaces, headed by Director Hisham Atwa, held its annual celebration to honor Egyptian women at the Republic Theatre, where pioneering models contributed to the development of society and the elevation of the country.
The authority honored 12 female personalities at the national level in more than one field, including renowned Broadcaster Enas Gohar, Journalist Dr. Magda Mahmoud, Famed Singer Afaf Radi, Critic Dr. Nahed Abdel Hamid, the writer and novelist Dr. Reem Bassiouni, Nancy Smeida, a psychological consultant, Dr. Ghada Amer, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Misr University for Science and Technology, Dr. Elham Fadali, a researcher in the field of physics, Olympic champion and taekwondo player Hidayat Malak, Siham Najm, founder and chairperson of the Women and Society Association, Dalia Atef, responsible for the Women and Children Department At the National Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Nida Al-Hadidi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fursan Al-Hadidi Foundation for Development and Care, and Soso Ragab, Head of the General Culture Department at the Workers’ Culture Palace in Shubra Al-Khaimah.
The Cultural Palaces also honored 12 public figures who played a prominent role in one of the areas of development in their governorates and honored 12 female creators in fields of science, arts, culture, literature, and others, in addition to honoring 30 ideal mothers and 8 legal mothers from the General Office of the Authority and the cultural regions
In conclusion, an artistic performance was presented by the choir band of Giza Cultural Center, Fekra, led by Maestro Dr. Salah Mustafa.
For his part, acclaimed Director Hisham Atwa affirmed his pride and appreciation for the Egyptian woman, who went through indescribable struggles to reach recognition and gratitude for her pioneering role and influence in society. His words came to empower and support women in several areas, including health, family, development, and other equally important issues.
