Foreign Ministry: Egypt celebrates Human Rights Day

Egypt is celebrating the Human Rights Day Saturday, which falls on December 10 annually, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday 10/12/2022.

Human Rights Day is celebrated every 10 December to create awareness and mobilize political will to promote respect for the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948.

The Day expresses the human family’s eagerness to build a world, that is based on equality, tolerance, existence, fraternity and mutual respect between peoples and civilizations, said the ministry.

It is important to cooperate and exert all possible efforts to honor principles and values stipulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on the 74th anniversary of its endorsement by UN, it added.

The 2022 Theme of Human Rights Day is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All. Both the Declaration and WHO’s Constitution assert that health is a fundamental human right for all people.
