Emigration Minister Soha Gendi asserted on Friday that the door is open for all the Egyptian expats’ suggestions to get familiar with their vision toward achieving Egypt’s sustainable goals.

During her meeting with Regional Director of Romania’s TAROM Airlines in Cairo Alaa Aref to discuss ways of cooperation, Gendi lauded the cooperation with TAROM in bringing back the stranded Egyptians from Romania during the coronavirus period and following the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The minister also hailed the Romanian airlines’ expansion of its activities in Egypt and keenness to serve the Egyptian expats in Romania, valuing Aref’s efforts to launch a direct airline route between Egypt and Romania to the cities of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada to boost tourism.

Meanwhile, Aref said that TAROM operates three weekly charter flights to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, with a total of 12 trips in Egypt.

It also operates as a transit line between Egypt and a number of eastern European countries. The company is set to operate two regular flights per week between the two countries as of April in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan and Easter, Aref added.
