Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity and Chairperson of Nasser Social Bank (NSB), Nivine El Kabbaj, has recently launched a project to empower female community leaders and involve them in marketing NSB products.
In a statement to the press, the Minister mentioned that NSB, the only social bank in Egypt, is responsible for local economic and community development. It was established to stimulate the banking and investment sector and broaden the base of social solidarity while fulfilling social and national responsibility.
NSB’s mission also includes empowering women, particularly in areas without access to facilitated banking services. For that reason, the ministry has launched a project to empower female leaders through financial inclusion and engage them in marketing NSB products.
Kabbaj emphasized that this initiative would help unleash their potential and promote labor market engagement. She thanked President Abdel Fattah for approving an increase in female community leaders from 2,500 to 15,000 women.
That latest step shows the political leadership’s belief in the importance of citizen-building and investment in human capital. NSB Deputy Chairperson Mohamed Abdel Fadil and senior officials from the Ministry of Social Solidarity were present at the launch ceremony.
