Egypt’s President Sisi directs to accelerate the gas, and oil exploration

According to Egypt Today, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the government to increase the search and exploration activities to optimize the country’s resources and bolster the reserves of natural gas to meet the local market’s needs, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

The state’s investment plans for research and exploration in the eastern and western Mediterranean regions until 2025, in collaboration with major energy companies, have been reviewed, according to Rady, who estimates the total investment at around $2.1 billion.

Also, the president directed the Ministry of Petroleum to accelerate the implementation of the project of Sodium carbonate, Na₂CO₃, Complex in the new city of El Alamein. Rady continued.

The complex is being established in cooperation with the private sector with a total investment of about $500 million, Rady said.
