Egypt’s General Healthcare Authority Inks Cooperation Protocol with JICA

Yesterday, Chairman of the General Healthcare Authority, Ahmed Sobky, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the authority and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The protocol, signed by the authority’s CEO, Amir Talwani, and Makoto Tobe, senior advisor of the Human Development Department of JICA, focuses on financing a Japanese technical cooperation project in the healthcare field.

The project aims to promote Patient-Centered Care (PCC) services in 22 health facilities. An Egyptian hospital will also be selected to exemplify PCC services under a twinship deal with a Japanese hospital. Sobky highlighted that this cooperation is a significant step towards achieving the authority’s strategic goals of improving the quality of health services provided to the people.

In turn, Makoto Tobe of JICA emphasized that the protocol represents a milestone in promoting cooperation between Egypt and Japan in the healthcare domain.
