During his speech at Sudan’s neighbor summit today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi proposed a four-pronged Egyptian vision for Sudan to wriggle out of the current crisis.

The summit, which kicked off in Cairo today, examined measures to end the ongoing conflict in the country and the negative repercussions it poses on its immediate neighbors and the security and stability of the entire region.

The Egyptian president proposed a vision that pushed fighting parties to halt escalation and start without any reluctance serious negotiations to reach an immediate and durable ceasefire.

It also called on all Sudanese parties to facilitate all humanitarian assistance via safe corridors to reach more needy areas in Sudan.

Moreover, El-Sisi stressed the importance of launching an inter-Sudanese dialogue, grouping all civil and political powers as well as women and youth representatives to spearhead a comprehensive political process catering to the needs and aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, prosperity, stability, and democracy.

His proposal also included launching a liaison mechanism to lay down an executive action plan to reach a comprehensive solution to the Sudanese crisis.
