Egyptian NCW launches awareness campaign within 16 days of combating violence against women

According to Egypt today, The Egyptian National Council for Women (NCW) is launching a media campaign to raise awareness of the issue of violence against women.

This campaign is broadcast on various radio stations, and through the council’s social media platforms, presented by Dr Ali Gomaa, the former Grand Mufti of Egypt, and writer Nashwa Al-Hofy, a member of the council.

The campaign raises awareness of the issue by reviewing the various types and forms of violence against women through short and simplified audio messages (physical, sexual, institutional, economic and verbal violence, electronic crimes and domestic violence).

The campaign also highlights the National Council for Women’s Complaints Office and its hotline 15115, which provide psychological and legal support.

This campaign is being launched in collaboration with the Council, the European Union, UN Women, and the United Nations Population Fund as part of the 16-day global campaign to end violence against women.
