Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 14, the President of the Supreme Council of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Egypt’s Mufti Shawqi Allam, will take part in the “Forum for Building Bridges Between East and West” that takes place at the Trusteeship Council Chamber, United Nations headquarters in New York.
During his visit, Allam will meet with many officials at the UN to extend bridges of cooperation with them and outline objectives and common programs to enhance intercultural exchange to correct the wrong image of Islam in the West and counter the phenomena of Islamophobia.
Yesterday, the Mufti’s Adviser, Ibrahim Negm, said that Allam’s four days visit to New York comes as part of the foreign tours made by the Iftaa House to hold religious interactions with other states.
