The Egyptian woman has proven her worth in many fields, most recently in the Egyptian judiciary. In a new victory for Egyptian women, Egyptian judge Radwa Helmy proved self-worth after becoming an active member of the judicial system in a historic moment, in which female judges of Egypt sat on the platforms of the State Council Judiciary for the first time on March 5, a day that will forever remain in history as a Triumphant day for women.
On that date, Judge Helmy sat for the first time on the platform of the Administrative Court of the State Council after three decades of claims and lawsuits to empower women in judicial work, from the platform of the Criminal Court, through their joining as members of the Public Prosecution.
That came after the Supreme Judicial Council approved the Attorney General’s request to transfer female judges to work in the Public Prosecution for the judicial year 2021/2022 to the appearance of the first female members of the public prosecution in the place of prosecution in the first precedent in the history of the Egyptian judiciary.
Counselor Abdel Majeed Mahmoud, the former Attorney General, commented: The true will of those in charge led to this transformative step, which brings honor to the Egyptian state.
In an exclusive statement to “Youm 7”, he expressed gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Counselor Hamada El-Sawy, Attorney General, and Counselor Omar Marawan, Minister of Justice and President of the Supreme Judicial Council, saying: No one denies their tireless efforts for the advancement of the judiciary and judges, and I pray for them to succeed.
He further stated that the male and female judges of Egypt, including female members of the Public Prosecution Office, will remain the backbone for all Egyptian citizens.
