Egyptian Freestyle Wrestler Samar Hamza Breaks New Records at United World Wrestling

Last Monday, the Egyptian freestyle wrestling champion, Samar Hamza, topped the United World Wrestling rankings by shattering records.

Hamza won the 76 kg weight division with 71600 points, making her the top-ranked athlete in the world, beating Japan’s World no. 2 Yuka Kagami, who scored 76000 points, and Kyrgyzstan’s world no. 3 Aiperi Medet Kyzy with 72600 points.

It is worth mentioning that Hamza is the first female wrestler from Egypt to win a medal in the 2021 Wrestling World Championship and a silver medal at the 2022 Wrestling World Championship.
