The Egyptian government places the elimination of violence against women in all its various forms, in addition to raising awareness and changing behavior, atop of its priorities, especially since it has become an urgent necessity, which requires taking certain steps.

In this regard, the government has developed an integrated vision in its 3-year program (2024-2027) under the slogan “Together we build a sustainable future”, foremost of which is expanding the provision of legal services to women survivors of violence and psychological rehabilitation programs for them.

To reach this goal, the government seeks to expand awareness campaigns to change social attitudes and behaviors that contribute to violence against women and prepare various training programs for those about to get married to reduce the resort of spouses to violence during the marriage.

The government also seeks to intensify penalties to protect women from all forms of violence and expand awareness campaigns on how women choose their life partners to reduce divorce rates. The government further is keen to expand the provision of family counseling programs and awareness campaigns related to educational principles for young people to help women raise a generation capable of achieving comprehensive development

It also aims to expand the establishment of forensic clinics specialized in protecting women from violence.

The Egyptian government is setting its sights during the next stage on achieving a number of goals, most notably preserving the determinants of Egyptian national security in light of regional and international challenges, as well as working to achieve strong, sustainable, and comprehensive growth rates in most sectors.

Human capital building also tops the government’s agenda and development plan, especially in the fields of health and education, and political participation, in parallel to continuing to follow up on security and stability files and combating terrorism.

The Egyptian government’s program aims to achieve four main strategic objectives, which are: protecting security, building human beings, building the economy, and achieving Egyptian national stability and competitiveness.

The program’s objectives have been determined based primarily on the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030, the recommendations of the national dialogue sessions, the objectives of the ministries, the national program for structural reforms, and various national strategies.
