Nivine El Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, stated that the ministry plans to establish a national volunteerism policy by mid-May.
This strategy will outline the ministry’s vision for creating the first unified volunteering database and establishing diverse channels for mobilizing volunteers, communicating with them, and improving their conditions, Kabbaj said while attending the Share a Smile (SAS) Foundation’s launch ceremony for the Middle East’s first volunteer center.
According to Kabbaj, Egypt has a long history of volunteering and philanthropic activity, which clearly manifests an awakening humanitarian conscience and a desire to serve our country and do our best for a safe and healthy lifestyle.
It is worth mentioning that SAS is a non-profit organization promoting the culture of volunteering in Egypt. It began as an initiative in 2008.
