Egypt Plans to Build 38 Stations Connecting New Cairo to 6th of October by 2027

The Egyptian Ministry of Transport, represented by the National Authority for Tunnels, plans to open and operate 38 new metro stations from the 6th of October area to New Cairo and Giza by 2027.

According to Sada El Balad, this is part of the implementation of the Metro Line 4 project; the ministry stated that work on the fourth line of the Cairo Metro is ongoing, and some of its stations are to be assigned to the Arab Contractors Company.

The project began with the implementation of the Hadayek El Ashgar station, and the fourth line will connect the cities of the 6th of October and New Cairo.

With a focus on enhancing passenger transportation in densely populated areas, the initiative will significantly benefit residents of Haram, Faisal, Omrania, Giza, Nasr City, Al-Azhar University, and New Cairo. These areas will be directly connected by the new metro line, easing their daily commutes.

The fourth line of the Cairo Metro will be approximately 42 kilometers long, with a capacity of roughly 2 million passengers, and 38 stations are planned.
