Egypt’s Tax Authority Chairperson, Rasha Abdel Aal, has officially announced the opening of the 2024 tax filing season. The tax filing period for individuals (natural persons) will begin on January 1, 2025, and end on March 31, 2025. Corporate taxpayers (legal entities) are required to submit their returns by April 30, 2025, or within four months of their fiscal year’s conclusion. All tax submissions will be made electronically via the Tax Authority’s official online platforms.
Electronic Filing for Taxpayers in Various Regions
Rasha Abdel Aal clarified that taxpayers in specific regions, including those belonging to the First and Second Large Taxpayer Centers, the Large Free Professions Center in Cairo, and taxpayers in Alexandria and Hurghada, will file their returns through the newly launched tax system via the Tax Authority’s official website www.eta.gov.eg.
Other taxpayers, who fall outside these regions, can submit their tax returns through the e-tax portal at https://eservice.incometax.gov.eg/etax.
Comprehensive Support and Guidance for Taxpayers
To ensure the smooth filing process, Rasha Abdel Aal highlighted the Tax Authority’s commitment to providing all necessary support and technical assistance. This includes a comprehensive plan featuring daily free seminars aimed at educating both taxpayers and accountants on how to submit their returns electronically.
Moreover, the Tax Authority has set up technical support teams across various professional syndicates, civil society organizations, chambers of commerce, and unions to further facilitate the tax filing process. Dedicated support teams will also be available at tax offices nationwide to assist with any inquiries or issues.

Rasha Abdel Aal also encouraged taxpayers to attend the free online seminars, emphasizing their importance in simplifying the electronic filing process. The seminars will provide a detailed explanation of the filing system and answer any questions taxpayers may have.
