Egypt Granted Presidency of Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions

Saturday, July 29, marked handing Egypt the regular presidency of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions during the Network’s Conference and its 20th General Assembly in Cairo.

The Conference and the Network’s 20th General Assembly kicked off in Cairo today in cooperation with the National Council for Human Rights.

During her speech, the President of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), Moshira Khattab, said Egyptian women have got unprecedented rights under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

She added that El-Sisi launched the first national strategy on human rights and has contributed to making prominent achievements in human rights-related domains.

The two-day conference is a major opportunity for probing the best practices, lessons, and the most important challenges facing National Human Rights Institutions to determine priorities and needs.

The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Ali Moselhi, participated in the conference, as well.

The event further aims to boost the role of the networks and international and regional organizations in promoting National Human Rights Institutions.
