Egypt Encourages Emirati Investors To Be Part Of Major Transportation Projects, Minister

Egypt has been looking for partners in the UAE to make investments in some of the $20 billion in transportation projects intended for the country, according to Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir.

El-Wazir made these remarks to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the Middle East Rail 2023 Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi.

According to the transport ministry, Egypt provides investment opportunities to build 2,250km of railway lines, modernize metro and railway engines, and create electric trains.

It is worth mentioning that the Emirati investments in the country surged 300 percent to reach $5.7 billion in FY2021/2022, up from $1.4 billion in FY2020/2021.
