Egypt recently won 102 gold medals at the 13th African Games, marking the country’s ninth success since the event began in 1965.
Egyptian athletes competing in the 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana, achieved a historic success, winning 192 medals in a wide range of events in the continental competition. The total comprises 102 gold medals, 47 silver medals, and 43 bronze medals, firmly establishing the country as the Games’ victor.
Egypt also won the championship at the previous tournament in Morocco in 2019, with the same number of gold medals. Since its beginning in 1965, Egypt has won 70% of all African Games, with this year’s victory marking the seventh time it has achieved this feat.
Today’s team consists of 390 athletes who compete in more than 20 disciplines, including track and field athletics, volleyball, boxing, and swimming.
