EGYPS 2023″ Conference Highlights Egypt’s Role as an Important Strategic Hub

 

Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, chaired the third Executive Committee to follow up on the final preparations and arrangements ahead of EGYPS 2023 in the presence of Executive Committee members, which includes heads of local and international oil companies supporting the show and dmg events representatives, the organizer of the show.

The minister affirmed that H.E. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is keen to attend and inaugurate EGYPS 2023, which reflects the sector’s importance and success in line with the national agenda to become a regional hub for energy and trade.

El Molla added that the strong participation by major international organizations and companies in EGYPS 2023 reflects the great regional and international interest in Egypt, thus, affirming its leadership as a regional natural gas and oil trade hub. The show comes after successfully hosting the COP27 in Egypt last year and organizing a Decarbonization Day as a part of the COP27 activities, marking the participation of the oil and gas industry for the first time in climate summits.

He added that the show reflects tremendous interest tackle issues related to new and renewable energies, hydrogen, decarbonization technologies, and energy efficiency, covering axes of global interest in energy across different panel discussions and technical sessions with the participation of major oil companies, technology companies, and industry experts from various countries, especially in light of the current challenges echoing on global markets and prices. Panelists will further examine the enhancement of safety and environmental protection besides corporate social responsibility in oil companies towards the community.

El-Molla announced the submission of 13 new agreements for natural gas and crude oil exploration to the parliament, with investments of around USD 650 million, after obtaining the cabinet’s approval on signing the draft agreements with international companies covering exploration in the Mediterranean Sea, Western Desert and the Gulf of Suez.

On his part, Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events, the organizing company of EGYPS, confirmed that the new edition of the show to attract the attendance of more than 32 thousand participants, 2000 delegates, 41 international oil and gas companies, 500 exhibitors, 260 speakers, 12 international exhibiting country pavilions, and 65 discussion panels.

The show agenda encloses a strategic conference with the participation of ministers and leaders of prominent international energy, oil, gas, and technology companies. The show also features the finance and investment conference, and technical conference, in addition to sustainability in the energy conference, which will have dedicated discussion panels to tackle decarbonization and emission reduction efforts. Besides, the show will include Equality in Energy Conference. EGYPS 2023 will also host its annual awards ceremonies, including, for the first time, the Sustainability in Energy Awards.
