Top 50 Women Forum members extend their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Maya Morsy on her appointment as Minister of Social Solidarity in the newly formed cabinet by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister. The members affirmed that this leadership position crowns her honorable achievements and successes in public service over the past years through her chairmanship of the National Council for Women and many other important positions.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the forum’s members pointed out that the selection of Dr. Maya Morsy for this important ministerial portfolio confirms the political leadership’s confidence in her professional competence and extensive international experience.
Selecting Dr. Maya to occupy this vital position will catalyze Egypt’s sustainable development goals by supporting the social pillars of the state, achieving stability for the Egyptian family and its cohesion, and preparing and implementing government policy in solidarity and community development.
The forum affirmed that Dr. Maya has achieved unprecedented success in empowering Egyptian women and supporting them in assuming many high positions through her leadership of the National Council for Women since February 2016. Her tireless local and international activity to serve the issues of Egyptian women in all fields has strengthened her strong and permanent presence in various sectors of the state and her access to leadership positions and gained the trust of the political leadership in her ability to succeed and lead.
Additionally, the statement drew attention to the fact that Dr. Maya Morsy has a distinguished record of experience, gained through her work for more than 26 years in many national, regional, and international organizations, including the National Council for Women, the United Nations, the USAID, in addition to academic institutions and the private sector. Hence, this will promote a qualitative leap in the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s future scope.
On the other hand, the forum also expressed gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Nevin El Qabbaj for her great efforts during her leadership of the Ministry of Social Solidarity during the past period, and her ability to achieve many honorable successes in many fields related to community development.
