The annual forum of the “QudwaTech” initiative for women’s empowerment, titled “The Future of Women’s Empowerment in the Age of Digital Transformation,” was recently inaugurated by Amr Talaat, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology. The event, which was organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, coincided with the local and international celebrations of Women’s Day in March.

The success of the communications and information technology sector is contingent upon its capacity to assimilate advanced technological solutions for achieving developmental, societal, and economic progress across various domains. This statement was pronounced by the Minister of Communications.

Egypt’s “QudwaTech” initiative by the Ministry of Communications aims to help women entrepreneurs leverage technology for their projects and target markets.

Talaat has elaborated that the commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the initiation of the “QudwaTech” program is being observed in conjunction with the celebrations honoring women. This includes the celebration of Egyptian Women’s Day at the local level, as well as the observance of International Women’s Day at the global level.

The QudwaTech initiative has successfully provided digital support to over 11,000 women and entrepreneurs. This has been achieved by graduating 55 training groups hailing from various governorates in the craft and service fields. These training sessions have been instrumental in building their skills in digital marketing using social media platforms. Furthermore, the initiative has conducted more than 70 consulting sessions and an awareness seminar on several topics that support e-commerce, artificial intelligence applications, production of visual digital content, and advanced digital solutions.

UNDP Egypt’s Resident Representative, Alessandro Fracasetti, expressed support for Egypt’s sustainable development plan. The UNDP is committed to working on comprehensive growth, strategic innovation, and digital transformation to help Egypt overcome economic and social challenges.

QudwaTech initiative empowers women entrepreneurs by facilitating their digital transformation journey.

Hoda Dahroug, advisor to the Minister of Communications & IT, implemented QudwaTech training programs for 10 tourism companies. These programs trained female workers in email marketing techniques to promote their respective establishments.
