Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has recently launched the Qodwa-Tech, which aims to contribute to the social and economic empowerment of girls and women in the governorates of Egypt, especially remote and marginalized areas, using information and communications technology to motivate them towards entrepreneurship.

During October, several seminars and training activities were held targeting Egyptian women entrepreneurs and owners of productive and service projects within the framework of the Qodwa-Tech initiative to empower women.

Moreover, an introductory symposium was organized in cooperation with the governorate’s general office and the National Council for Women to introduce the new paths it offers. The initiative is for women entrepreneurs and small business owners.

The Qodwa-Tech initiative launched a series of sustainable development sessions. The first session, entitled “Design Thinking for Handicrafts,” was held online and highlighted the relationship of design thinking to innovation and creativity in heritage crafts and preserving visual identity.

The initiative also aims to reach the largest possible number of female entrepreneurs to open new horizons for them and spread digital awareness in villages and cities in local communities to implement Egypt’s digital strategy.

Qodwa-Tech comes with the strong belief that Egyptian women have a high priority and a pivotal role in the country’s National Strategy 2030 as one of the pillars of community development that will only be achieved by ensuring women’s effective participation in all aspects of work to build a strong nation and enhance the digital transformation process.
