The official spokesman for the Atomic Energy Authority and supervisor of the project to integrate the scientists and symbols of the Atomic Energy Authority into the national project “He Lived Here” in memory of them, Dr. Sherif Al-Gohary, said: A project plaque was installed on the house where the distinguished scientist, Dr. Tamader Ahmed El-Khalafawy, the pioneer of atomic energy and nuclear fusion in Egypt and the owner of the distinguished scientific school at the Atomic Energy Authority, lived.

It is worth noting that Dr. Tamader El-Khalafawy established a plasma research unit in 1962 in the Department of Nuclear Nature at the Atomic Energy Corporation. She was the first woman to head the Nuclear Research Center in Anshas. She had extensive experience in the fields of research studying vortex plasmas, as well as linear device systems, containing and heating plasma in magnetic accelerators, and methods of accurate and modern plasma diagnosis.

Moreover, El-Khalafawy has supervised approximately 30 doctoral theses and 40 master’s theses and has published more than 120 research papers in the plasma physics and nuclear fusion field. She also participated in establishing the Third World Countries Network for Plasma Research in 1989.

In response, the late scientist’s family expressed their appreciation for this honor from the state, represented by the Atomic Energy Authority, as Her Excellency succeeded during her life in building a big scientific school of scientists at the Authority in the fields of plasma physics and nuclear fusion.
