Arab Cinema Center Hosts “Women in Leadership” Panel at Cannes

The Arab Cinema Center (ACC), in cooperation with the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival, is organizing a panel discussion titled “Women in Leadership: Leadership and Decision-Making in the Region.” The event will take place on Friday, May 15, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on the Palais Stage.

The session is moderated by Michael Rosser, Asia and Middle East Editor at Screen International, and focuses on the growing role of women in the audiovisual industry. It examines how women contribute to shaping the strategic direction of the industry, from financing and commissioning productions to distribution and platform strategies, with an emphasis on inclusive leadership in building a more dynamic and globally connected film industry.

The panel features Samar Akrouk, Executive Director at MBC STUDIOS and General Manager of Production at MBC Group; producer Rula Nasser, founder of Imaginarium Films; Bavy Yassin, founder and Chairperson of the Kurdistan Film Commission; Mayada Al Hiraki, founder and producer at The Storytellers; Joumana Sherbin, General Director of Olivewood Studios; and Baho Bakhsh, CEO and producer at Red Star Films.
