All you need to know about the Women’s empowerment in Art Forum

The second edition of the Women’s Empowerment in Art Forum will be launched at the Grand Egyptian Museum from 18 to 22 May 2024 under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.

This forum works to empower women through art and closely follows the United Nations’ fifth Sustainable Development goal as the basis for its goals. These include: Ending discrimination against women, ending violence against women, ensuring equal opportunities and full participation in public life, ending harmful practices through awareness-raising and empowerment, ensuring equal availability of economic resources and recognition of the value of unpaid work, and empowering and supporting displaced refugee women, as well as women with disabilities.

The participating countries will include Austria, Bahrain, Germany, The United States of America, China, Spain, Italy, France, Serbia, Poland, Mexico, Belgium, Oman, Kuwait, Palestine, Syria, Georgia, Romania, Tunisia, Morocco and Ireland.

Some of the Egyptian female artists abroad participating are: Mona Enayit, residing in Germany, and Nadine Atallah, residing in France. This forum will have a great role in stimulating future cultural and artistic tourism in Egypt. This forum will create a network between the artists of Egypt and the Arab and European countries. This Women’s Forum encourages continued dialog between female artists and audiences as a way for women around the world to share their experiences.
