Chancellor Hafez Abbas, Chairman of the Administrative Prosecution Authority has taken a significant step towards the support and empowerment of women in Egypt. Chancellor Hafez Abbas has issued a decision to establish a dedicated unit on women’s affairs within the Authority. This unit will work towards implementing the objectives of the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030 and Egypt’s Vision 2030, to achieve sustainable development goals.
The Administrative Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement on International Day of Women Judges, 10 March, to empower women to hold judicial office and reduce the gender gap in public office access.
The Administrative Prosecutor’s Office has stated that it is a unique judicial body that focuses on women’s appointments and representation. Almost half of its members are women, making it the highest representative body for women. Since 1998, the office has taken disciplinary action against the Commission’s chairperson and five advisers who have violated its policies.
