On the occasion of International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, highlighted the pivotal role of Egyptian universities in nurturing women entrepreneurs.

Celebrated globally every November, International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day aims to recognize, support, and celebrate women entrepreneurs, while raising awareness about the challenges they face and the opportunities they create for economic growth and innovation. The day aims to promote gender equality in entrepreneurship and encourage women to pursue leadership roles in business and technology

Dr. Ashour emphasized that universities have become active platforms for empowering female students, offering training programs, university incubators, and innovation centers that help transform innovative ideas into successful startup ventures.

The minister further stated that the ministry is committed to fostering a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurship within universities. This includes providing technical guidance, mentorship, and training opportunities to enhance female participation in innovation, knowledge-based economies, and entrepreneurial initiatives, reflecting the growing role of female students and researchers in Egypt’s development journey.
