Deputy Minister of Health Meets Epson Executives at GITEX Global 2025 to Boost Digital Transformation in Egypt’s Healthcare System

On the sidelines of GITEX Global 2025, one of the world’s leading tech exhibitions, Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Mohamed El-Tayeb, held a high-level meeting with Neil Colquhoun, President of Epson Europe, Middle East, and Africa, to explore strategic collaboration in advancing digital transformation across Egypt’s healthcare system.

The meeting, held from October 13 to 17 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, brought together technology leaders and health officials to discuss equipping Egypt’s healthcare institutions with cutting-edge Epson printers, scanners, POS systems, and eco-friendly projection technologies.


Epson Technology to Accelerate Healthcare Digitization

According to Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, the Deputy Minister was given a live demonstration of Epson’s latest innovations, highlighting:

  • Energy-efficient and environmentally friendly devices
  • High-performance scanning and printing solutions
  • Advanced POS systems tailored for healthcare administration

Dr. El-Tayeb praised Epson’s sustainable technology as a strong match for the ministry’s goals of enhancing service quality while reducing energy consumption across medical institutions.


Key Areas of Collaboration Discussed

The talks focused on establishing:

  • Joint workshops and pilot programs to integrate Epson systems into healthcare workflows
  • A dedicated technical support team for ongoing projects with the Ministry
  • Use of POS systems in healthcare departments to streamline patient and administrative services

Also present at the meeting were Eng. Amr Ayed, Assistant Minister for Information Technology and Digital Transformation; Eng. Mohamed Sami, Chairman of Asma Technology; Jason McMillan, Epson Sales Director for the Middle East and Turkey; and Hossam El-Zoghayar, Epson Regional Sales Head.
