In a move that strengthens regional cooperation and knowledge exchange, Egypt’s Institute for Diplomatic Studies has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Women Development Organization (WDO), a specialized body of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), headquartered in Cairo.
The agreement, signed on Sunday, August 24, 2025, reflects the Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration with regional institutions based in Egypt, particularly in the diplomatic and academic spheres.
Under the MoU, the Institute will provide tailored training programs and academic activities for WDO personnel, aimed at enhancing their understanding of international relations, foreign policy, and modern diplomatic practice.
In return, the Women Development Organization will share its expertise in the field of women’s empowerment, leadership, and policy advocacy. Both parties have agreed to co-organize joint training initiatives and events focused on mutual areas of interest, including gender equality in diplomacy and public policy.
The partnership signals a growing emphasis on integrated, cross-sectoral cooperation between governmental and intergovernmental entities, aligning with Egypt’s broader foreign policy vision that promotes gender inclusion and institutional development at the regional level.
The Women Development Organization, established under the umbrella of the OIC, plays a pivotal role in advancing the status of women across member states through policy coordination, research, and capacity-building initiatives.
Officials from both sides hailed the agreement as a valuable step toward fostering inclusive diplomacy and building bridges between professional and academic communities working on gender and governance across the Islamic world.
