Egypt to Host Inaugural “AI Everything Middle East & Africa” Summit in February 2026

Global tech leaders  will converge in Cairo for a landmark Artificial Intelligence event .Egypt is set to host the first edition of the “AI Everything Middle East & Africa” Summit and Exhibition, from February 10–12, 2026. The event, organized by GITEX GLOBAL in strategic partnership with Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), positions Cairo as a regional hub for artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies.

The three-day summit will convene over 60 countries, bringing together tech giants, government officials, global investors, AI startups, and thought leaders to discuss the future of AI in the Middle East and Africa.


A Global Platform for AI Collaboration and Innovation

“AI Everything Middle East & Africa” is poised to become the region’s most influential AI gathering. The summit aims to catalyze international cooperation, accelerate innovation, and highlight the real-world applications of AI across key sectors, including healthcare, energy, education, agriculture, and finance.

As part of the renowned GITEX Global series, the event will serve as a gateway for cross-border partnerships, knowledge exchange, and investment opportunities in the AI ecosystem.


Egypt’s AI Strategy on the Global Stage

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, emphasized that hosting the summit reinforces Egypt’s commitment to becoming a regional AI leader.

Egypt has already launched two editions of its National AI Strategy, established the National Council for Artificial Intelligence, and created an Applied Innovation Center. These efforts aim to build a robust digital infrastructure, enhance local talent, and foster a vibrant innovation ecosystem.


Driving Regional Leadership in AI

In this regard, Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, described the summit as a pivotal milestone in Egypt’s mission to become a regional powerhouse in AI. Elzaher noted the summit’s role in not just spotlighting the tech sector, but also in transforming traditional industries through AI solutions tailored to regional challenges.


Global Recognition of Egypt’s Digital Potential

Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President at Dubai World Trade Centre — the organizing body of GITEX — commended Egypt’s digital momentum.


Summit Highlights: Policy, Innovation, and Investment

The AI Everything MEA Summit will feature:

  • A Ministerial Forum on AI Policy to align strategies across nations
  • A cutting-edge exhibition of AI applications and emerging technologies
  • Expert-led panels on machine learning, cloud computing, AIoT (AI for Internet of Things), and large language models (LLMs)

In addition to thought leadership sessions, the event will spotlight startups and scaleups with:

  • A global investment platform connecting entrepreneurs to over 200 venture capitalists
  • An AI Hackathon designed to unlock youth innovation and prototype AI-driven solutions with real-world applications

The decision to host the inaugural AI Everything MEA in Cairo is a testament to Egypt’s rapid digital transformation and its growing influence on the global tech map.
