Mona Yousef

Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Maya Morsy, cast her vote today in the 2025 Senate elections at the Badr Preparatory School for Boys polling station in the Dokki district of Giza, as the nationwide electoral process unfolds over August 4 and 5.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Dr. Morsy emphasized the importance of widespread participation in this constitutional milestone, underlining that voting is both a national duty and a right enshrined in the Egyptian Constitution.

Further, she extended her heartfelt thanks to judicial authorities, election officials, the National Elections Authority, and the Ministry of Interior for their tireless work in organizing and securing the electoral process.

Gratitude to Voters and Personal Outreach

Morsy also took the opportunity to engage directly with voters standing outside the polling station. She praised their commitment and resilience in enduring high temperatures to fulfill their civic responsibility, noting that such determination reflects the deep-rooted democratic awareness among Egyptians.

In a notable gesture of compassion, Dr. Morsy responded immediately to a request from a female voter who shared her challenging family circumstances. She instructed her ministry’s team to assess the case and provide immediate social support.

A Broader Message of Inclusion

Dr. Morsy’s participation is part of a wider campaign to promote inclusive electoral engagement, especially among women, seniors, and marginalized groups. The Ministry of Social Solidarity has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that every eligible citizen can access their voting rights with dignity and without barriers.

The 2025 Senate elections are being held over two days, with authorities working to ensure accessibility, transparency, and safety at polling stations across the country.
