As part of its ongoing efforts to promote active and informed participation of women and girls in Egypt’s political life, the National Council for Women (NCW) has launched a new public awareness campaign titled “Your Voice Is a Responsibility” ahead of the 2025 Senate elections, scheduled for August.

The campaign features audio messages voiced by journalist and NCW member Nashwa El-Houfy, and is being broadcast on some of the country’s most-listened-to radio stations.

Raising Awareness and Encouraging Participation

The campaign aims to raise awareness among women and girls about the importance of voting in the upcoming Senate elections. It encourages them to exercise their constitutional right and take part in shaping the future of their country by casting their votes at the polls.

According to the Council, the messages highlight key themes including:

  • The importance of voting as a national duty and constitutional right
  • The role of women in strengthening Egypt’s legislative process
  • The impact of participation on national stability and future development

Empowering Women Through Civic Engagement

This initiative comes as part of the NCW’s broader mission to empower Egyptian women and support their full participation in all aspects of public life, especially in democratic processes.
