Egypt’s Local Development Ministry Partners with “Easy Cash” to Enhance Digital Payment Services

Egypt’s Minister of Local Development,Dr. Manal Awad, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry and “Easy Cash” on Wednesday to facilitate electronic payment and collection services across Egypt’s governorates.  The signing ceremony received  Dr. Hisham El-Helbawi, Assistant Minister for National Projects, representing the Ministry, and Eng. Ahmed Ragab Basyuni, CEO of Easy Cash, signing on behalf of the company. The event brought together Maj. Gen. Magdy Al-Abrak, Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry, and other officials from both parties.

Supporting Digital Transformation and Service Accessibility

Dr. Manal Awad emphasized that the protocol aligns with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to enhance citizen services through digital payment solutions.

The Minister also highlighted the Prime Minister’s directives urging ministries, public agencies, and state-owned companies to adopt e-payment systems. The goal is to simplify collection processes, particularly for citizens engaging with local units across the country.

Expanding Digital Payment Solutions for the Public

Dr. Awad noted that this partnership is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to keep pace with rapid technological advancements and the country’s broader vision of transitioning to a digital society. The initiative also supports financial inclusion. The “Easy Cash” prepaid cards, approved by Egypt’s Central Bank, will enable citizens without bank accounts to conveniently settle government payments electronically.

“By working with Easy Cash, we’re not only modernizing payment systems but also empowering citizens, particularly those in remote areas, to engage with government services in a seamless, efficient manner,” Dr. Awad stated. “This effort supports the country’s ongoing digital transformation and financial inclusion goals.”

Innovative Solutions for a Cashless Society

Eng. Abdeen explained that the initiative aligns with the company’s strategy to promote digital transformation and streamline government processes to better serve the public. He noted that the company is committed to providing innovative solutions that enhance public service delivery and improve citizens’ daily lives.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with the Ministry of Local Development in facilitating the provision of electronic payment solutions across government units. This partnership represents a key milestone in our strategy to expand our reach and support Egypt’s financial inclusion efforts,” said Engineer Arida. “Our goal is to simplify government transactions and contribute to Egypt’s transition to a cashless society.”

Expanding the Reach of Digital Payment Services

Eng.  Ahmed Ragab Basyuni, CEO of Easy Cash, further elaborated that the company would work closely with local governments to provide payment services for municipalities and local units. Easy Cash plans to enhance its infrastructure by deploying innovative payment solutions that will ensure the efficient collection of payments and make it easier for citizens to access and use government services.
