Egypt Supports UNESCO’s Decision to Feature Palestinian Sites on List of World Heritage in Danger

News Agencies

Earlier today, UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee has recommended keeping the Old City of Jerusalem and its walls, the Old City of Hebron, and the Palestine Land of Olives and Grapes site (the cultural landscape of agricultural terraces south of Jerusalem—Battir) on the List of World Heritage in Danger.

The decision was made during the 46th session of UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee held in New Delhi, as per Egypt Today.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly backed up that decision in addition to demanding that the Israeli government end all illegal measures aimed at changing the identity of Eastern Jerusalem and respect the status quo of Islamic and Christian sacred places.
