Egyptian Government to Implement Summer Closing Hours for Stores & Shopping Malls Starting Next Month

News Agencies

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently announced a new nationwide regulation requiring all shops to close at 10 pm as of July 1st, according to an article by Sada El Balad.

However, this mandate has been carefully designed to accommodate different business types. Pharmacies, supermarkets, and restaurants with unique operational needs will be allowed to operate until 1 am at the latest.

The primary goal of this move is to effectively manage and reduce electricity consumption across the country, a crucial step in our collective efforts to conserve energy.
