The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, collaborated with Egypt to announce a $100 million financing agreement during “IFC Day in Egypt.” This initiative prioritizes empowering women-led businesses and strengthening the country’s healthcare system.

Empowering Women, Driving Growth:

This significant allocation aims to fuel the growth of female entrepreneurs in Egypt. The overall $100 million deal will support small, medium, and micro-enterprises (SMEs), with a focus on creating opportunities for women-led ventures.

Building a Stronger Healthcare System:

The agreement includes a consultancy focused on refining contracting processes and stakeholder engagement for Egypt’s Comprehensive Health Insurance System. Further, it will indirectly improve access to quality healthcare for women across Egypt.

This agreement aligns with Egypt’s Ministry of International Cooperation’s dedication to executing presidential directives that empower the private sector, with a specific focus on women’s entrepreneurship. The Ministry aims to secure a broader spectrum of financial instruments for female-owned businesses, expanding both direct and indirect funding avenues.

Building on Success:

The $100 million deal marks a continuation of the successful partnership between Egypt and the IFC. The IFC’s proven track record of supporting women-led businesses in over 100 countries will be instrumental in propelling women entrepreneurs in Egypt forward.
