The delegation of the Karama Foundation group, including over 77 Sudanese women’s organizations, confirmed that it submitted a letter of thanks and appreciation to Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, for his keenness to provide full support to Sudanese women since the beginning of the crisis in Sudan.
Those statements came during the delegation’s visit to the National Council for Women yesterday, within the framework of the Council’s initiative to support Sudanese sisters, launched by the Council, represented by the Foreign Relations Committee, to identify the obstacles and problems they face.
Dr. Maya Morsi, President of the Council; Ambassador Mona Omar, Council member and Rapporteur of the Council’s Foreign Relations Committee; and members of the Committee attended the meeting.
The delegation reviewed some of the obstacles they face, including the problem of education, as the new academic year is scheduled to begin within days, and Sudanese students must enroll in the various educational levels.
Dr. Maya Morsi extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to Mrs. Hibaq Othman, Chairperson of the Karama Foundation Group, for her tireless efforts in coordinating and assembling Sudanese women’s institutions to convey the voice of Sudanese women and for taking the time to write a letter of thanks to the Egyptian political leadership, stressing that Egypt is the second homeland for Sudanese sisters, and expressed her sincere wishes for Sudan to enjoy stability shortly.
In turn, Ambassador Mona Omar confirmed that the main purpose of the meeting and the initiative is to document the obstacles and problems facing Sudanese women and a timetable for working to solve them.
