‘Let’s Go Together’ Event to Boost Korean Language Education and Tourism in Luxor
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) recently held a three-day event in Luxor, Egypt, to promote Korean language education and support the tourism sector.
Titled “Korea-Egypt, Let’s Go Together,” (Yalla Maabaad) the event brought together 30 Egyptian students from various schools to practice their Korean language skills through tour guiding activities at popular tourist sites such as Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple, according to “Ahram Online” website.
Led by three Korean language volunteers in KOICA, the event aims to provide local students with more opportunities to learn the Korean language and encourage career development in the tourism industry.
The event was held in cooperation with the High Institute for Tourism and Hotels Luxor (EGOTH), the Ministry of Defense Language Institute (MODLI), and Aswan University.
Students from Cairo and Aswan traveled and gathered in Luxor for three days to display presentations and peer reviews to examine their competence in Korean language skills, with the supervision of a professional tour guide who speaks Korean, roaming around Luxor’s tourist attractions including Luxor temple, Karnak temple, and Hatshepsut temple.
