Sisi Lauds Egypt-WHO Partnership Towards Hepatitis-free Egypt
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi delivered a speech during a ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of the World Health Organization.
During a video speech, he underscored the importance of Egypt’s well-established partnership with the (WHO) in hepatitis C elimination under the 100 Million Health initiative
He also stated that the scope of this initiative has expanded globally to several African and Asian countries, demonstrating Egypt’s robust international position.
The WHO’s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean in Cairo provides healthcare services to over 500 million people across 22 countries.
The president also referred to the significance of collective efforts in achieving health security.
The president urged world leaders to prioritize investing in health and emphasized the importance of such endeavors at the international level.
The president concluded his speech by stating that these efforts exemplify a deep belief in the importance of health solidarity, full commitment to promoting and protecting public health, and support for the fundamental principles of equality and justice.
