New draft labor law stimulates investment, achieves job security: minister

Minister of Manpower Hassan Shehata revealed on Tuesday 10/01/2023 his ministry’s vision and plan to integrate informal economy into the mainstream or formal economy; in line with relevant state policies and directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
A draft labor law submitted by the government stimulates investment, achieves job security and balance between employers and employees, and encourages the youth to work in the private sector, Shehata added during a plenary session of the Senate.
The minister’s speech touched on a study presented by Senator Ahmed Abou Hashima on the youth and the informal labor market.
The manpower ministry commends this study and welcomes all its recommendations, Shehata said, calling for concerted efforts by the State to put the study results into practice.
The minister added that the draft labor law has been approved by the Senate and referred to the House of Representatives.
