The National Council for Women’s branch in Aswan resumes its work of organizing 30 roundabout sessions for community awareness in 12 villages in the centers of Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Nasr al-Nuba, under the auspices of Major General Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan.
Awqaf scholars participate in the activities in coordination with local and rural units to execute the two pillars of women’s economic empowerment and raise cultural and educational awareness.
This comes in continuation to the activities of the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to support the axes of economic, cultural, and social empowerment within various villages and hamlets targeted by the presidential initiative “A Decent Life”.
For her part, Dr. Hoda Mostafa, rapporteur of the National Council branch, confirmed that, in following the instructions of the Governor of Aswan, the roundabout sessions aimed to educate 1,476 women and girls in the villages of Al-Kalh West, Amr Ibn Al-Aas, Al-Radisiya Bahri, Al-Kalh East, and Al-Dakadiq in Edfu Center, next to the city of Kom Ombo, as well as the villages of Sabil Makki, Maniha and Iqlit in the center of Kom Ombo, in addition to Qorta Thani, Al-Alaqi, and Wadi Khareet, in the center of Nasr Al-Nuba.
She pointed out that the sessions held various discussions and open dialogues to answer questions and inquiries related to population issues, reproductive health, in addition to sound and quality education for children, among other societal issues and challenges.
Parallel to that, the members of the National Council for Women in Kom Ombo honored the researcher Rushdi Ahmed Ali, the champion of Upper Egypt in weightlifting, for obtaining a Master’s degree at the celebration of Braille Day.
