President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in Washington on Tuesday 13/12/2022 to participate in the 2022 US-Africa Leaders Summit which will be hosted by US President Joe Biden for three days with the participation of 49 African leaders.
On the sidelines of the summit, Sisi will hold bilateral meetings with a number of the participating leaders, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said, adding that the president intends to focus during the summit on issues of concern to African countries in light of the current global challenges. He will be focused as well on strengthening the African-US partnership to confront the global food security crisis, facilitate the integration of African countries into the global economy, bolster opportunities to achieve economic growth, transfer technology and increase foreign investment, he also said.
The spokesman added that the agenda of the president’s visit to the US includes holding meetings with a number of senior US officials to discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two countries for the benefit of their peoples, as well as continue consultations and coordination on regional and international files of mutual concern.
Also, according to Rady, he is scheduled to meet with leading figures of the business community in the US to probe ways to enhance cooperation in the economic, trade and investment fields.
President Sisi is also set to meet on the sidelines of the summit with a number of heads of state and government for cooperation talks and to exchange views on various regional and international issues.
