World Bank Chief Ajay Banga Affirms Willingness to Promote Strong Partnership with Egypt

President of the World Bank (WB) Group Ajay Banga expressed a strong interest in fostering a partnership with Egypt that aligns with the priorities of the newly appointed government and aims to enhance development in all sectors.

Banga made these statements during his first meeting with Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania al Mashat at the G20 Development Ministerial meetings in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He also congratulated Mashat on her appointment.

The meeting focused on various aspects of Egypt’s partnership with the World Bank Group. Mashat emphasized the significance of a strategic partnership with the World Bank, one of the largest multilateral development banks globally.

Additionally, Egypt’s Governor at the World Bank, Mashat, stated that the merger of the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of International Cooperation will strengthen the partnership with the World Bank in monitoring the implementation of projects and programs, both in terms of economic sectors and geographical distribution across governorates.
